Story 16 - Visiting Rio de Janeiro
A) Oh, I’m so excited you are coming to Rio! When do you get here?
B) I get there on Monday, the 21st. My plane lands at 9:20 in the morning.
A) Oh, no. I’ll be at work.
I won’t be able to pick you up at the airport.
You should take an Uber from the airport to… Where are you staying?
At a hotel, at an Airbnb?
B) I’m staying at an Airbnb in Ipanema.
A) Ipanema is a beautiful neighborhood here in Rio.
It’s one of the safest areas for tourists, but you still have to be careful.
Don’t wear jewelry.
Don’t carry a lot of cash with you.
And don’t use your cell phone if you are walking around.
B) It doesn’t sound like Rio is a very safe city at all…
