CHAPTER THREE

THE NEVERLAND

Wendy, John and Michael fly over cities, towns, mountains, forests and seas. Finally they see an island in the sea below them.

'Look, that's Neverland,' says Peter.

'Neverland!' say the children.

In Neverland the Lost Boys live in the forest in a secret underground home. There are six Lost Boys: Slightly Soiled, Tootles, Nibs, Curly and the Twins. They are waiting for Peter.

Suddenly they hear the voices of the pirates. Nibs is very brave. He goes out, hides behind a tree and looks around him. He sees the horrible pirates. They are walking in the forest. They are big and ugly. Their pirate ship is the Jolly Roger.

The pirates' captain is James Hook. He is a cruel pirate and a very bad man. He's got black eyes, black hair and a black beard. He hates Peter Pan. He's only got one arm. The other is a hook! In the past Peter Pan cut off Captain Hook's right arm during a fight. A crocodile ate the arm. Now the crocodile follows Captain Hook everywhere because he wants to eat him. The crocodile has an alarm clock in its stomach! Captain Hook can always hear it.

'I know the Lost Boys live in this forest. We must find them and Peter Pan!' says Captain Hook.

'Tick, tock, tick, tock!' Captain Hook hears the alarm clock.

'Oh, no, the crocodile is coming to eat me!' says Captain Hook. He runs away and the pirates follow him.

Soon some Indians arrive in the forest. They are looking for the pirates. The pirates are their enemy. Tiger Lily is their leader. She is the beautiful daughter of the Indian chief. She loves Peter Pan. Tinker Bell and Wendy love him too. The Indians go away and the Lost Boys return to play in the forest.

Then Nibs looks at the sky and says, 'Look, there is a lovely white bird in the sky.' 'Is it really a bird?' the Lost Boys ask.

Tinker Bell says, 'Yes, yes, it's a bird. It's a Wendy bird. You must shoot it!' Sometimes Tink is a bad fairy. She knows it is Wendy, but she doesn't like her.

Nibs takes his bow and arrow and shoots Wendy. Poor Wendy falls to the ground. The Lost Boys see Wendy and say, 'She's not a bird! She's a lovely girl.'

Peter flies down with John and Michael and asks, 'Where is Wendy?' Tootles says, 'Here she is.'

Peter goes over to her and asks, 'Wendy, are you all right?' Wendy slowly opens her eyes and smiles. 'Yes, but I'm very tired,' she says.

The Lost Boys are sorry. They decide to build her a little house.

When the house is ready Wendy says, 'What a lovely little house! Thank you.'

'Can you be our mother now? Can you tell us bedtime stories before we go to bed?' asks Nibs.

'Of course,' says Wendy. 'Come in and I can tell you the story of Cinderella.' They enter, sit down and listen to Wendy's story. It is a wonderful story.

Peter Pan is outside the house with his sword. He wants to protect Wendy and the Lost Boys.

Terra do Nunca

There are six Lost Boys: Slightly Soiled, Tootles, Nibs, Curly and the Twins. They are waiting for Peter.

Tem seis Meninos Perdidos: Levemente Sujo, Tootles, Nibs, Encaracolado e os Gêmeos. Eles estão esperando por Peter.

Suddenly they hear the voices of the pirates. 

De repente eles ouvem as vozes dos piratas.

Nibs is very brave. He goes out, hides behind a tree and looks around him. 

Nibs é muito corajoso. Ele sai, se esconde atrás de uma árvore e olha ao redor dele.

He sees the horrible pirates. 

Ele vê os piratas horríveis.

They are walking in the forest. 

Eles estão andando na floresta.

They are big and ugly. 

Eles são grandes e feios.

Their pirate ship is the Jolly Roger.

Seu navio pirata é o Jolly Roger.

The pirates' captain is James Hook. 

O capitão dos piratas é James Hook (Capitão Gancho).

He is a cruel pirate and a very bad man.

The other is a hook!

In the past Peter Pan cut off Captain Hook's right arm during a fight. 

No passado Peter Pan cortou o braço direito do Capitão Gancho durante uma luta.

A crocodile ate the arm. 

Um crocodilo comeu o braço.

Now the crocodile follows Captain Hook everywhere because he wants to eat him. 

Agora o crocodilo segue o Capitão Gancho para todos os lugares porque ele quer comê-lo. 

The crocodile has an alarm clock in its stomach! 

O crocodilo tem um relógio com despertador dentro do seu estômago. 

Captain Hook can always hear it.

O Capitão Gancho pode ouví-lo sempre.

'I know the Lost Boys live in this forest. 

‘Eu sei que os Meninos Perdidos vivem nesta floresta.

We must find them and Peter Pan!' says Captain Hook.

Temos que achá-los e Peter Pan!’ diz Capitão Gancho.

'Tick, tock, tick, tock!' Captain Hook hears the alarm clock.

‘Tick, tock, tick, tock!’ Capitão Gancho ouve o despertador.

'Oh, no, the crocodile is coming to eat me!' says Captain Hook. 

‘Oh, não, o crocodilo está vindo para me devorar!’ diz Capitão Gancho.

He runs away and the pirates follow him.Ele foge e os piratas lhe seguem.

Soon some Indians arrive in the forest. Logo alguns Índios chegam à floresta.

They are looking for the pirates. 

Eles estão procurando pelos piratas.

The pirates are their enemy. 

Os piratas são os inimigos deles.

Tiger Lily is their leader. 

Tiger Lily (Lírio de Tigre) é a líder deles.

She is the beautiful daughter of the Indian chief. 

Ela é a linda filha do cacique.

She loves Peter Pan. Ela ama Peter Pan.

Tinker Bell and Wendy love him too. Tinker Bell e Wendy o amam também.

The Indians go away and the Lost Boys return to play in the forest.

Os Índios vão embora e os Meninos Perdidos voltam a brincar na floresta.

Then Nibs looks at the sky and says, 'Look, there is a lovely white bird in the sky.

'Então Nibs olha para o céu e diz, ‘Olhem, há um pássaro lindo branco no céu.’

'Is it really a bird?' the Lost Boys ask.

‘Será que é realmente um pássaro?’ os Meninos Perdidos perguntam.

Tinker Bell says, 'Yes, yes, it's a bird. It's a Wendy bird. You must shoot it!' 

Tinker Bell diz, ‘Sim, sim, é um pássaro. É um pássaro-Wendy. Vocês devem abatê-lo!’

Sometimes Tink is a bad fairy. 

Às vezes, Tink é uma fada má.

She knows it is Wendy, but she doesn't like her.

Ela sabe que é a Wendy, mas não gosta dela.

Nibs takes his bow and arrow and shoots Wendy. 

Nibs pega o seu arco e flecha e atira na Wendy.

Poor Wendy falls to the ground.

The Lost Boys see Wendy and say, 'She's not a bird! She's a lovely girl.'

Peter flies down with John and Michael and asks, 'Where is Wendy?'}

Peter voa para baixo com John e Michael e pergunta, ‘Onde está Wendy?’

Tootles says, 'Here she is.

'Tootles diz, ‘Ela está aqui.'

Peter goes over to her and asks, 'Wendy, are you all right?' 

Peter vai até ela e pergunta, ‘Wendy, está tudo bem?’

Wendy slowly opens her eyes and smiles. 'Yes, but I'm very tired,' she says.

Wendy abre os olhos lentamente e sorri. ‘Sim, mas eu estou muito cansada,’ diz ela.

The Lost Boys are sorry. 

Os Meninos Perdidos estão arrependidos.

They decide to build her a little house.

Eles decidem construir uma pequena casa para ela.

When the house is ready, Wendy says, 'What a lovely little house! Thank you.

'Quando a casa está pronta, Wendy diz, ‘Que casinha linda! Obrigada.’

'Can you be our mother now? Can you tell us bedtime stories before we go to bed?' asks Nibs.‘

Você pode ser a nossa mãe agora? Você pode nos contar histórias de embalar antes de irmos para a cama?’ pergunta Nibs.

'Of course,' says Wendy. 'Come in and I can tell you the story of Cinderella.'

‘Claro,’ diz Wendy. ‘Entrem e eu posso lhes contar a história da Cinderella.’

They enter, sit down and listen to Wendy's story. It is a wonderful story.

Eles entram, se sentam e escutam a história da Wendy. É uma história maravilhosa.

Peter Pan is outside the house with his sword. He wants to protect Wendy and the Lost Boys.

Peter Pan está do lado de fora da casa com a sua espada. Ele quer proteger a Wendy e aos Meninos Perdidos.
